Dr. Julie Davelman brings both clinical expertise and a deep commitment to the Monmouth Collaborative Divorce Professionals working with families in transition. Trained in individual and couples therapy, she has devoted much of her career to helping people navigate difficult family changes with greater understanding, support, and stability.

For more than a decade, Dr. Davelman has worked to expand the reach of Collaborative Divorce in New Jersey and currently serves as Vice President of the New Jersey Council of Collaborative Practice Groups. As a mental health neutral and divorce coach, she helps couples manage the emotional challenges of divorce while keeping communication, family relationships, and the well-being of their children at the center of the process.

Dr. Julie Davelman has extensive experience in all aspects of divorce work in which a psychologist may be involved. This experience has given her a front-row view of the challenges within the traditional divorce system.

Through her work as a mental health neutral and divorce coach in the Collaborative Divorce process, she helps couples avoid much of the damage that can result from litigation while providing education and emotional support that may be missing from both mediation and litigation. Collaborative Divorce uses a team approach to help people successfully navigate this difficult time, which can be especially meaningful when children are involved.

In her role, Dr. Davelman helps spouses learn to let go of the marriage while holding on to what is most precious to them: the relationship with, and respect of, their children. Because the collaborative process focuses on determining the best possible outcome for each party, couples are continually reminded of their shared goal of protecting their children’s best interests.

Dr. Davelman is proud to be part of this process and to offer families a more constructive way through an incredibly difficult transition.
